HISTORY: Started in 1992, the Critter Corner has been run by Seahawk families for 33 years and is the only school in the county with such a unique learning opportunity. The Critter Corner is synonymous with Seawell's identity, and a reason why families come and stay at the school. Caring for the Critters provides so many benefits including practical life skills, increased confidence, and sensory & emotional support.
VISIT: Helping out at the Critter Corner benefits families in many ways from social emotional learning to biology and life skills. Bring the kids to get to know our furry and feathery friends. Request an orientation at crittercorner@seawellpta.com
VOLUNTEER: The relocation of the Critter Corner is complete, but unfortunately CHCCS District funds were only able to provide for the basic structure. Let's roll up our sleeves for this truly special place! Projects include:
Installing shade structures to keep the animals safe from exposure to sun and predators
Carpentry work
Creating a flood path to mitigate erosion
Planning a mural
