HISTORY: Started in 1992, the Critter Corner has been run by Seahawk families for 33 years and is the only school in the county with such a unique learning opportunity. The Critter Corner is synonymous with Seawell's identity, and a reason why families come and stay at the school. Caring for the Critters provides so many benefits including practical life skills, increased confidence, and sensory & emotional support.

VOLUNTEER: The relocation of the Critter Corner is complete, but unfortunately CHCCS District funds were only able to provide for the basic structure. This left many necessary projects in the hands of our PTA and volunteer team. Now it’s our turn to roll up our sleeves and not only keep the Critter Corner alive but make it a truly special place! History is in the making! Projects include:
Installing shade structures to keep the animals safe from exposure to sun and predators
Installing flooring in the stalls as the dirt floors will erode quickly
Carpentry work
Creating a flood path to mitigate erosion
Painting all the wood structures and planning a mural
