Family Photo Fundraiser on 10/4 and 11/9
Seawell’s Learning Garden is home to many plants, fruit trees, and vegetables! Students will have opportunities throughout the year to visit and work in the garden. Parents and families can also get involved by helping with garden work outside of school hours. No gardening experience or regular commitment required. To learn more, email garden@seawellPTA.com and look out for garden workday announcements.
The PTA's Garden Guardian after-school garden program is returning this Fall for students in 2nd through 5th grades. Classes meet on Thursdays after school until 4:10pm from September 11th through November 6th. Pickup will be at 4:15pm in the car pickup line. Class will not be held on October 2nd (Teacher Workday).
The Seawell Garden Guardians will use the Seawell Garden and classroom space to learn about botany, planting techniques, soil health, food production, gardening for wildlife, teamwork and responsibility. For returning students, there will be some review, but we will also be working with many new plants and continuing to expand our garden area. Seawell parent and garden coordinator, Elizabeth Zander, will be leading the classes with assistance from Master Gardener volunteers with Cooperative Extension.
Cost: $160/8 weeks (Partial/Pro-rated sessions may be available after a session has already begun, pending availability). PLEASE NOTE: Elizabeth will follow up with parents/guardians via email regarding rules and policies. The Google Form must be completed by parents/guardians and returned to Elizabeth before enrollment is considered complete.
