Volunteer at Seawell

Your time matters, even if you only have 30 minutes.

Help once, help from home, choose a predictable role, or join a small project team. No PTA experience is needed. We provide clear instructions and a person to ask.

Volunteering and PTA membership are separate choices. You do not need to be a PTA member to volunteer, and joining the PTA never requires volunteering.

New to Seawell, new to U.S. public schools, or simply unsure how PTA volunteering works? You are welcome. We’ll explain what to expect.

New Family Orientation, Tour, and Popsicle Social

Help welcome Seawell’s newest families.

Tuesday, August 18, 2026

4:30–7:00 p.m.

Seawell Elementary School

Choose a greeting shift, guide a campus tour, or help with the popsicle social. You do not need to volunteer for the full event (the signup lists individual roles and times). We'll provide instructions and materials.

Current Seawell families and alumni are welcome.

Campus Stewardship Workday: Back-to-School Grounds Cleanup

Join us for one (or both) of our upcoming campus cleanup days.

Saturday, August 15 and Saturday, August 22

8 AM–12 PM

Meet at the front court by the cafeteria

We’ll be weeding, pruning, cleaning out planting beds, spreading mulch, and tackling other approved projects around campus.

Drop in anytime and stay as long as you can. No sign-up required!

Kids are welcome to work alongside their adults, especially with weeding. Bring water, sunscreen, gloves, closed-toe shoes, and any useful garden tools you have.

Meet the Teacher: PTA Table Volunteers

Help welcome Seawell families at the PTA table during Meet the Teacher.

Thursday, August 20

5:30 PM–7 PM

Volunteers will greet families, share PTA information and flyers, help families join or renew their PTA memberships, and assist with the spiritwear display and sales. No prior PTA experience is needed. We’ll provide the materials and simple instructions.

Find a Way to Help

Help Once

Choose a short event shift, setup or cleanup job, supply contribution, or campus workday. Review each opportunity before signing up and choose only what works for you.

Help From Home

Contribute through writing, design, translation, research, data entry, photo organization, grant support, or a local-business introduction.

Help Regularly

Choose a predictable schedule, such as a recurring Critter Corner shift, garden help, staff-appreciation support, or another defined responsibility.

Help Build or Lead

Join a small team to shape a project with a clear timeline, board contact, budget, and existing materials. Co-leads and first-time volunteers are welcome.

Not Sure Where to Start?

Answer a few questions about your schedule, interests, and preferred level of commitment. This two-minute form does not commit you to a role. A PTA volunteer will review your response and suggest one to three specific possibilities.

You may also tell us what would make participation easier or request follow-up in your preferred language.

Room Parents help welcome families, share occasional classroom needs, and support teacher appreciation.

Training, templates, and ongoing guidance are provided and no PTA experience is needed.
